1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste or ½ cup diced tomatoes
½ cup sour cream or heavy cream
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch dish.
Sauté cabbage in oil until softened and browned. Set aside.
Cook onion and garlic, then add ground meat and cook through.
Stir in tomato paste, cream, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer briefly.
Layer half of cabbage, then meat mixture, then remaining cabbage in baking dish. Top with cheese.
Cover and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 5–10 more minutes.
