A hearty, low-carb cabbage casserole layered with seasoned ground meat, creamy tomato sauce, and gooey melted cheese. Cozy, comforting, and perfect for any night of the week.

Ingredients

1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste or ½ cup diced tomatoes
½ cup sour cream or heavy cream
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch dish.

  • Sauté cabbage in oil until softened and browned. Set aside.

  • Cook onion and garlic, then add ground meat and cook through.

  • Stir in tomato paste, cream, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer briefly.

  • Layer half of cabbage, then meat mixture, then remaining cabbage in baking dish. Top with cheese.

  • Cover and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 5–10 more minutes.

  • Cool slightly, garnish, and serve.

Notes

Use dairy-free alternatives if needed. Add veggies or spices to customize flavor.
