Creamed Cabbage and Ground Beef Casserole combines tender cabbage, seasoned beef, and a rich creamy sauce baked under a golden cheese topping for a hearty and comforting meal.

Ingredients

1 medium head green cabbage sliced
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
4 ounces cream cheese softened
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Brown ground beef in a skillet and drain excess grease.

  • Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic briefly.

  • Mix in cream cheese until melted, then add heavy cream and seasoning. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes.

  • Combine cabbage with beef mixture and transfer to baking dish.

  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes.

  • Remove foil and bake 15 to 20 minutes more until cabbage is tender and cheese is golden.

  • Rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pre-sauté cabbage for thicker texture.
Store leftovers in refrigerator up to 4 days.
