Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta (Easy One Pot Dinner)

A bold and creamy one-pot Cajun sausage pasta with smoky sausage, tender pasta, and a spicy, velvety cream sauce. Quick, satisfying, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
2½ cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Sauté sausage in oil until browned. Remove and set aside.

  • In same pot, cook onion and garlic until soft. Add Cajun seasoning.

  • Add broth and cream. Bring to a simmer.

  • Stir in pasta. Cover and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Add sausage back in and stir in Parmesan. Simmer until creamy.

  • Serve hot, garnished with parsley or red pepper flakes.

Notes

Use gluten-free pasta or plant-based cream as needed. Add vegetables for more color and nutrition.
