2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs cut into pieces
1 cup plain yogurt
4 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 teaspoons garam masala
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon paprika or Kashmiri chili powder
4 tablespoons butter divided
1 1/2 cups tomato puree
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
Mix yogurt, garlic, ginger, and spices. Marinate chicken at least 30 minutes.
Cook chicken in butter until lightly browned. Remove.
Sauté garlic and ginger in remaining butter.
Add tomato puree and simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
Stir in garam masala and cream.
Return chicken to pan and simmer 5 to 7 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro and serve.
