A quick, hearty one-pan recipe combining ground beef, cabbage, and simple seasonings for a nourishing, low-fuss dinner that’s ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (85–90% lean)
45 cups thinly sliced green cabbage
1 medium yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp tomato paste
12 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika or Italian seasoning (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  • Push beef to one side. Add onion and cook 2–3 minutes, then stir in garlic for 30 seconds.

  • Stir in tomato paste and optional spices. Mix until well combined.

  • Add cabbage. Stir and cook for 10–12 minutes until soft and lightly browned. Cover for a few minutes to help it steam.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot with parsley or cheese if desired.

Notes

Use a large pan to avoid crowding. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cabbage will cook down as it softens.
