Steak Crostini with Horseradish Sauce & Caramelized Onions featuring toasted baguette slices topped with tender steak, creamy sauce, and sweet onions.

Ingredients

1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak
1 baguette sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 large yellow onions thinly sliced
1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
1 to 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  • Caramelize onions in butter and olive oil over medium-low heat for 20 to 25 minutes.

  • Toast baguette slices at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

  • Season and sear steak 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  • Rest steak and slice thinly against the grain.

  • Mix sour cream, horseradish, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

  • Spread sauce on crostini, top with steak and onions.

  • Garnish and serve.

Notes

Assemble just before serving to maintain crisp texture.
